If money was no issue, what would you do with your time?
I would spend my days playing piano, attending symphonies, drinking tea from dainty teacups, reading classic literature and sci-fi, learning all the languages, watching cartoons, and loving the 100 dogs I would surely have.
What's one thing you learned as a teenager that you still use every day?
The concept of the “Circle of Refinement”, which allows you to produce a functionally good end product without being stalled by perfectionism; fully finish your task reasonably, but not perfectly, well. Then refine the whole project to an even higher quality and repeat. If your time is cut short, you still have a functioning and perfectly acceptable end product, far better than an incomplete project. It doesn’t mean adopting a “good enough” attitude or doubling your work, but rather prioritizing tangible results over an intangible ideal that may never come to full fruition.
What is your favourite thing about working for a B Corp?
I like knowing that my employers prioritize being good humans over their bottom line.
What is the fun fact you pull out at parties or in a lull in conversation?
Majel Barrett (wife of Gene Roddenberry) portrayed and/or voiced more than 20 characters in the Star Trek franchise including the narrator and voices of the computers through the series and all of the films.
